Mortgage Marketing

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Mortgage websites are fairly common within the industry and Mortgage website design has extended the competition onto the internet as companies vie with one another to optimize their sites search engine rankings.

One of the most important functions of well designed mortgage websites is the generation of leads. This is done by inducing the visitor to the site to leave some information about them that would enable them to be contacted by the broker in person for follow up. One of the basic methods of doing this is the direct approach. This would involve the straight forward asking for contact information in order to be directly contacted. It is important when taking this approach to be clear and concise about why you are requesting phone numbers and addresses. If the purpose is to make a follow up phone call, make sure that is explained when asking for the information.

For your mortgage marketing strategy, there are other methods for generating leads; however that are not as direct. One is to give something away. This is a time honored method of lead generation. Everyone likes to get something for nothing, and few are offended by a follow up. In fact, most people will expect it. The free item should be something related to mortgages. People are expecting a high degree of professionalism from their Mortgage broker. A good choice would be an informational booklet explaining different types of mortgages.

Another tested approach is to request an email address, or offer to send the information to an email. Internet users are much more willing to provide an email address than to give their home address or telephone number. Once you have an email, you have a way to make personal contact, establish trust, and more direct contact information usually will follow.

Hawaiian Tropical Honey - A Culinary Treasure of the Big Island

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

A unique combination of geography, natural irrigation and atmospheric conditions creates a habitat on the Big Island of Hawaii ideal for the cultivation of raw honey. Beekeepers have harvested excellent honey from the islands for some time, with nearly a million pounds of honey coming from the area known as the Puako Forest annually. But in recent years, particular attention to selection of the raw honey results in a product that is literally unrivalled in its purity, texture and overall taste.

For some, it may be enough that this tropical honey comes only from a small section of a very special part of the world. That alone would separate it, in quality and taste, from much of the honey produced around the globe. But beginning with an exquisite raw honey just may not be sufficient to get this special condiment to those who appreciate its organic purity. Something else is necessary - meticulous attention to detail during the entire post-harvest process.

Harvesting Kiawe honey involves timing, a factor critical in most honey processes. Raw honey taken too early may ferment in the jar, but if it is taken too late it crystallizes in the comb. If the honey is handpicked at just the correct time, and put into containers correctly, it will manifest a superior white, smooth texture in just a few days.

Taking the combs at just the right moment would be enough to separate the final product from other honey. Yet there is one more step to consider, or in this case, a step to leave out. Raw Kiawe honey is a living food. Experienced producers know that cold-bottling honey retains its wonderful texture and preserves healthy, natural enzymes. While leaving heat out of the process produces an ideal tropical honey, the viscosity (thickness) does slow down processing, again contributing to the rarity of the finished product.

Connoisseurs know there are some excellent raw honey sources around the world, and that fine honey is available on every continent. But if you are looking for the best in unique Hawaiian Gifts this holiday season a growing number of aficionados consider Kiawe tropical honey from the Big Island of Hawaii to be a natural treasure with few, if any, culinary peers.

Being Realistic About Income Potential

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

A lot of people wish to do business on the internet because they have seen the signs or late night infomercials touting that anyone with an extra 30 minutes a day can make $20,000 a month. Most people find out in short order that is very near impossible and bitterly give up. This is because their expectations were too high, unrealistic and quite possibly they were fed a boatload of crap.

If that same person was told that they could learn how to make enough extra cash to pay off an additional bill or too, a very achievable goal for most people, then they would have been elated with the results and not felt ripped off. Now to be perfectly honest, there are ways to make a lot of money on the internet, and there are people who are doing extremely well, but most of them have spent some time learning what works and what doesn’t. Just like anywhere else, there is a learning curve to doing business on the internet. There are also a couple questions that you need to ask yourself so that you can be realistic about the income potential of your next internet venture.

1.
How many hours are you committed to putting in?: This is one of the first questions that you should ask yourself. If you want to earn the big bucks, then you will have to be willing to put in the time.

2.
Is there a market for what you are trying to sell?. If you are trying to sell homemade shoes for raccoons, you might have a problem moving merchandise. Instead find a piece of hungry market and sell your wares to them.

3.
How much money do you have to get your project off the ground?. There are some promotions that you can do for free to get your business off the ground. However, there will be some costs that are unavoidable, for instance, the purchase of a domain name and hosting. You will also have to eventually pay for some type of advertising or for some outsourced work. Take a realistic look at your budget when you are considering how much money you can potentially make.

4.
Is your niche too competitive?: If you are looking to break into a the highly competitive market of online mortgage lending, then you might have some trouble generating leads. So to think that you are going to make a lot of money targeting this niche might be unrealistic unless you have a big budget.

5.
How much experience do you have?. Because internet marketing success hinges so much on experience it is not very likely that you will begin earning thousands of dollars your first week. So consider your experience and factor in your learning curve before you start counting your millions. Give yourself a little time to get acclimated.

It is possible to earn a good amount of money using the internet. However, your experience level, your budget, the competitiveness of your niche will all be factors in how much money you can realistically expect to make. So the next time you hear about the possibility of earning $20,000 with only 30 minutes worth of work, consider the above factors. The old adage rings true “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is”.

The Real Story Behind the Flood

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

The puzzle of Atlantis has stimulated wonder among the metaphysically inclined and confounded historians for a score of centuries. Thanks to the Ethersphere, New Age & metaphysical book store on-line aficionados have at their disposal a vast array of volumes alluding to the myth of Atlantis, both non-fiction and such genres as science fiction and fantasy reading.

There are more versions of what that early race was like and where it was located and where the ruins might be encountered than practically any other of the many stories involving prehistoric superior cultures. Yet the tale of a Utopian culture which perished in a Deluge has lived on precisely for the reason that it appeals so strongly in the New Age.

Prolific author Edgar Cayce conceived of Atlantis as a large land mass, about the scale of Australia. As it is told in the medium’s complete vision, the people of Atlantis had mastered many advanced telepathic abilities and technologies, and seeded colonies to the oddly congruent solar-worshiping civilizations of the founders of Western Civilization and the Empires of native America. The theme is in many cases grouped with past lives and reincarnation stories along with such diverse topics as the paranormal, and is frequently alluded to in writings about apocalypse predictions of Mayan Calendar world changes on December 21, 2012.

Plato, student of Socrates, originally wrote detailing a forgotten Paradise, called Atlantis, around 355 BC. He believed the lost Island lay near the Straits of Gibraltar and met a fateful end about ten millennia prior.

Conjectures suggesting the site of this culture’s remains stretch from the Pacific Ocean to the Americas, though, naturally most of the focus centers on well-known candidates which are European islands, most notably the Azores and Cyprus.

We may never know where the Island lay, nonetheless the literature seems to indicate: civilization has reached great levels of sophistication rising and falling in a process of rise and decimation, perhaps in a recurring pattern, prior to what we habitually consider as the earliest hint of history.

Do journalism and politics mix?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Perhaps the major issue here is defining public interest and the form that the presentation thereof takes. People’s opinions on what defines relevant news varies, and objective presentation, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Hyperbole is maligned by some, praised by others. It’s less a matter of what is objective than it is of who can determine what is objective.

Journalists have the duty to seek and present the truth, so inherently they must question authority, but their questioning must be based on contrary information, or to inquiry about verification. Challenging authority should never be about egos. Illegitimate questions come at the expense of integrity.

How do I stop my dog from jumping on me or other people?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Well, years ago a trainer suggested a knee in the chest for my American Eskimo, but this didn’t phase her one bit. So I don’t really feel this method is very effective in very hyper dogs really… and that seems to be your case.

Our current trainer told us to immediately say “off” in a firm voice and turn our backs on the puppy until she is down on all 4’s, at which time, we immediately turn around, praise her and say “Good off” in a pleasant tone.

Kneeing a dog down, or yelling at them no, without doing anything else is still a form of attention, even if it’s negative. The idea here is to “remove” the reward for jumping up, which is to turn your back and ignore the dog until he does as you want.

The hard part is getting family and friends to help you on this. More than once I have had someone say to me, “oh, it’s okay, she’s just excited”. Okay, sure, that person doesn’t mind, but what about someone who does. I have had to persistently remind family and friends how to handle the jumping up situation to help us discourage it all together. If you allow it sometimes, it sends mixed signals and confuses the dog as to what you want of them. It’s VERY IMPORTANT that you ALWAYS address the jumping behavior each and every time.

This has worked well with our Border Collie puppy and tho it does take time to accomplish (so be patient and persistent) it will work. Putting your dog in a sit is a very good thing too and is something you can impliment once you have the jumping more under control.

Edit: Also, never step backwards to get your dog down on all 4’s as you are “allowing” him to have your space and as an alpha pack leader, you shouldn’t allow this.

When should puppies be taken away from their mother?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Puppies shouldn’t leave Mom until they’re at least eight weeks of age, and there are actually some good reasons why veterinarians recommend this.

Dogs, just like people, develop social skills as babies. Puppies pick up some critical information during those first two months, from interactions with their littermates and with their mother. They learn appropriate responses and boundaries in play. It makes for easier to train and more socialable dog in most instances.

Another reason is the overall health of the dog. At eight weeks of age, our puppies have, through the course of nursing, acquired whats called “maternally derived antibodies”. This is a fancy way of saying they’ve obtained superior immune systems and immune responses to some common infectious diseases through a substance in Mom’s milk called colostrum. It’s more likely that they’ll respond well to vaccinations after they’re sent off to their new homes.

Good for you, investigating before you rehome your new pups. I’m sure you’ve got some great families lined up - what an exciting time! Have fun these next few weeks, and take lots of pictures!

Taking Luxury Cars to a New Level

Friday, September 28th, 2007

When you buy a luxury car from the dealer you will be impressed with many things, but more often than not you will be surprised at the wheels. That’s because while car manufacturers do try to make an effort when it comes to wheels and luxury vehicles they just can’t create a look that is what every buyer will want. However, there is an option available for people who want outstanding wheels that really convey their style all the while being luxurious. The best way to get this look is to buy a set of Vellano wheels. That is because Vellano has been in business for over a decade and they know how to create the luxury look you are wanting in your wheels. There are many different options of Vellano forged wheels available. And of course, the price of the wheels will be based on the size and what they are made of. Some wheels are 19, 20, or 22 inches while 24 inch wheels are also available. All wheels utilize a true forged CNXC barrel with a solid tip. The colors available include chrome finish, brushed finish, grey finish, white finish, and red finish. The wheels are available for most any type of sports or luxury car, but if you are curious you should call first. That is because everyone wants a set of wheels that fit their vehicle and take it to a different level.

Utah Real Estate

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Utah is a beautiful state to live, especially for those who like outdoor activities with the mountains, lakes, forest, trails and more. If you are planning on moving to Utah then you will be interested in Utah real estate. In fact, if you have an Internet connection you could do the whole process over the Internet and arrive to your new Provo real estate! There are many websites that focus specifically on real estate listings. Search out the different sites that are the biggest and the best, or other that simply specialize in Utah real estate. After you find a good site or several then you can begin searching for a home. It is quite easy to search for houses this way because there are search criteria. So, choose a home within a certain distance of your job, within a certain price range, in a certain city, or just search the whole state if you like. You can really find a lot of great real estate by doing an open search but keep in mind that if you have a job offer you will want to find a home that is within driving distance to your new job. Other than that, the sky is the limit!

Generally, the fact that one is moving to Utah is not the problem because Provo real estate is more affordable than other places in the country and the state is gorgeous. The problem is moving in itself. It really does not matter where a person is moving. It could be to some Alpine real estate or somewhere else. Regardless of where someone is moving, they must learn to deal with the move in a positive way. The easiest way to do this is to get organized. Believe it or not but organization skills will help the move go smoothly. This is especially so if the move is taking place before a new home is purchased in Utah. If this is the case, organization is even more important and new Utah residents will be interested in places to shop for homes.
